Can a female wear male-designed cycling shorts?
I'm new to cycling and just bought a bike from my local bike shop. However, because my bike is actually the mens version, the saddle is becoming very uncomfortable for me to ride on. So I thought that investing in a pair of padded cycling shorts will help solve the problem.
Unfortunately, not researching much about cycling shorts beforehand, I bought a pair of Cannondale cycling shorts that was designed for men. When I did some research on the website later, I realised that Cannondale makes the shorts in both men and women's version.
Now, I'm not sure if I should try to exchange the shorts for the women's version or should I just stick with the mens' version that fit pretty ok on me. My main concern is the differently-shaped chamois for men and women.
Is it a big deal if a female wears a men-version of cycling shorts? Will I receive the right amount of protection/comfort when riding?
Please help, and thanks in advance for your answers!!
To answer your question, yes you can wear male shorts.
There's no law against it.
If it makes you feel more comfortable and improves your perfomrance, then go for it, and wear'em.
