What brand is better cannondale or redline?
Thats what bikes my bike shop has.Im talking about the cyclocross bike the ones in the same price range. Which brand give the most bang for the buck?
Redline makes decent bikes for reasonable prices. Cannondale makes mostly higher quality bikes with correspondingly higher prices. I have a C'dale 'cross bike and love it, and would buy a Redline if my budget limited me to their bikes.

What can you tell me about Cannondale...?
Lots of people keep on tellin' me that they are weird bicycles, with weak frames and not so good components... but I like one old Canon that I saw, is in perfect shape, part of the Canon's vintage collection, and is on sale for $180.00... What do you think?
I'm talking about an old m200 in perfect shape.
I've owned many bikes made of steel, carbon fiber and aluminum. I currently own a 'dale R4000 CAAD5 it's a wonderful bike. The people I know that have them love them too. Components? Well if you buy a cheap one you get cheaper components like any other bike - makes sense right? You can't have a $800 bike with a $1500 component gruop now can you?
Now for the m200 it was a lowend bike with cheap components. I think $180 is too much for it. But I checked around and see they go for over $200 still. If you really like it it'd make an OK urban ride. Compared to the other m200 for sale it's a good deal.

Beginner triathlete looking for advice?
My first triathlon is a sprint in just under 2 weeks and I've been training pretty hard for it. I just added some new aerobars to my bike (older Cannondale) and probably going to get some new pedals and shoes soon. I'm also signing up soon to run my first marathon in November. I have big aspirations for my future and am really excited to get into the triathlon scene. Before this I was a recreational runner (about 20-30 miles per week) and I swam competitively in high school with some recreational cycling here and there. Are there any veterans out there who can give me some advice on training, equipment, mental preparation, what to expect out of the bigger races (Ironman and 70.3), transition tips, injury prevention, and so on?
First of all welcome to the sport.
Second, you are asking questions that are pretty big and there are many books and many good websites where you can find all that information.
It sounds like you have a good background in swimming, biking and running that will be enough for the sprint you are doing. And looks like you know how to train at least for the sprint or even olympic distance tri and there are many training plans on line.
For example right now i'm following this plan: http://www.trifuel.com/triathlon/ironman-workouts/
This site has a good forum and great people if you want to ask questions. And search the forum for the answers.
Good luck

Cyclists...How is your summer riding season going?
My husband and I live in Texas and the heat is about to kill us! We did an overnight 187mile ride this past Saturday night and that was awesome. The temperature dropped from 94 at 7pm to 71 at 2am. What a more pleasant time to ride.
Anyone doing the HHH in Wichita Falls this August? We will be there. We ride a white Cannondale tandem but may have our new one by then...a red/black Calfee. Look for us there! It should be a blast!
Sandy
Additional question...In the heat, what are you drinking to avoid the serious cramping that comes along with 12 hours in the heat? We are drinking Cliff Electrolyte powder mix in our camelbaks but my husband seems to continue to cramp regardless. We also use that Elete in the mix. Any other suggestions?
I drink Powerade and use Endurox R4 for recovery if I have a really hard ride. The heat here in Lubbock,TX has been bad the last few weeks. Will be in Buffalo Gap south of Abilene to do a 77 mile race this Sat July 25th.
As for mileage I do 700-800 miles a month through out the year.
No HHH for me I've done it 3 times and that's enough.
